The prompts are set in a variety of worlds where spaceships, artificial intelligences, and cool gadgets thrive. These prompts all have to do with space, space travel, or colony worlds. If you're not familiar with my style of prompts, please hop over to my website and check out the Saturday Story Prompts category. This eBook contains Saturday Story Prompts previously posted to the blog from 2011 through 2017. They are still available there for free, this ebook is just a handy way to carry a month's worth of prompts in your pocket! Prompts are not divided into categories and have been mixed to make sure themes and genres are not clumped together. The prompts are meant to be read in this random order to shake up your muses and get them hopping around between wildly different ideas! I’ve included examples of the various ways to use the prompts at the end of the book, since not every prompt may fall in a subgenre that you write in.

Book 31 Day Structured Engagement with God

Download or read book 31 Day Structured Engagement with God written by Martha A. Alexander and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2017-10-18 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A life-transforming approach to tearing down relationship barriers, Structured Engagement is a dialogical (communication) act between participants (in this case, God and the reader) that evolves around knowledge of and relationship with one another to create a pathway to truth-telling, freedom to act, and mutuality of purpose. Although words matter in the Structured Engagement process, this journal speaks to the reader with photos more than with words! This 31-Day Structured Engagement with God, unlike most devotional journals, is a collection of photos (from the deep south that the photographer calls the tools of life and leadership) that have been paired with Scripture to glorify God, and inform the spirituality, character, and leadership skills of the reader. This 31-day meditational/devotional journal is an excellent tool for building relationship and leadership skills of small groups, Sunday School classes or youth groups. It is a unique, spiritual journey that encourages thinking outside the box about Scripture and spirituality from a relationship-centered focus versus a self-centered focus.

Book Reality Hunger

Download or read book Reality Hunger written by David Shields and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2010-02-23 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A landmark book, “brilliant, thoughtful” (The Atlantic) and “raw and gorgeous” (LA Times), that fast-forwards the discussion of the central artistic issues of our time, from the bestselling author of The Thing About Life Is That One Day You'll Be Dead. Who owns ideas? How clear is the distinction between fiction and nonfiction? Has the velocity of digital culture rendered traditional modes obsolete? Exploring these and related questions, Shields orchestrates a chorus of voices, past and present, to reframe debates about the veracity of memoir and the relevance of the novel. He argues that our culture is obsessed with “reality,” precisely because we experience hardly any, and urgently calls for new forms that embody and convey the fractured nature of contemporary experience.

Book excerpt: Writing in Space, 1973-2019 gathers the writings of conceptual artist Lorraine O'Grady, who for over forty years has investigated the complicated relationship between text and image. A firsthand account of O'Grady's wide-ranging practice, this volume contains statements, scripts, and previously unpublished notes charting the development of her performance work and conceptual photography; her art and music criticism that appeared in the Village Voice and Artforum; critical and theoretical essays on art and culture, including her classic "Olympia's Maid"; and interviews in which O'Grady maps, expands, and complicates the intellectual terrain of her work. She examines issues ranging from black female subjectivity to diaspora and race and representation in contemporary art, exploring both their personal and their institutional implications. O'Grady's writings—introduced in this collection by critic and curator Aruna D'Souza—offer a unique window into her artistic and intellectual evolution while consistently plumbing the political possibilities of art.
