Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Conference on E-commerce and Web Technologies (EC-Web) is a mature and well-established forum for researchers working in the area of electronic commerce and web technologies. These are the proceedings of the ninth conference in the series, which, like previous EC-Web conferences, was co-located with DEXA, the International Conference on Database and Expert Systems Applications, which, this year, took place in Turin, Italy. One key feature of EC-Web is its two-fold nature: it brings together both papers proposing technological solutions for e-commerce and the World Wide Web, and papers concerning the management of e-commerce, such as web marketing, the impact of e-commerce on business processes and organizations, the analysis of case studies, as well as social aspects of e-commerce (to understand the impact of e-commerce solutions on day-to-day life and the new opportunities that these behaviors open). The technical program included 12 reviewed papers and two invited papers. Each paper was reviewed by five reviewers, in order to select only the best quality papers. The program included five sessions: “Security in E-Commerce” (with two papers), “Social Aspects of E-Commerce” (with two papers), “Business Process and EC Inf- structures” (with three papers), “Recommender Systems and E-Negotiations” (with four papers) and “Web Marketing and User Profiling” (with three papers). We found the program interesting and we hope participants and readers feel the same. Furthermore, we hope the attendees enjoyed the conference and Turin. June 2008 Giuseppe Psaila Roland R. Wagner

This conference, first held in Greenwich, United Kingdom in 2000, is now in its third year and is very well established. As in the two previous years, it served as a forum bringing together researchers from academia and commercial developers from industry to discuss the current state of the art in E-commerce and web technology. Keynote addresses, research presentations, and discussions during the conference helped to further develop the exchange of ideas among the researchers, developers, and practitioners who attended. The conference attracted more than 100 submissions and each paper was reviewed by at least three program committee members. The program committee selected 40 papers for presentation and publication, a task which was not easy due to the high quality of the submitted papers. We would like to express our thanks to our colleagues who helped to put together the technical program: the program committee members and external reviewers for their timely and rigorous reviews of the papers, and the organizing committee for their help in the administrative work and support. We owe special thanks to Gabriela Wagner and Maria Schweikert for always being available when their helping hand was needed.

It was held in conjunction with DEXA 2005. This conference was organized for the first time in Greenwich, UK, in 2000, and it has been able to attract an increasing number of participants and interest, reflecting the progress made in the field. As in the five previous years, EC-Web 2005 served as a forum that brought together researchers from academia and practitioners from industry to discuss the current state of the art in e-commerce and Web technologies. We are sure that inspirations and new ideas emerged from the intensive discussions that took place during the formal sessions and social events. Keynote addresses, research presentations and discussions during the conference helped to further develop the exchange of ideas among current researchers, developers and practitioners. The conference attracted 139 paper submissions and each paper was reviewed by three Program Committee members. The Program Committee selected 39 papers for presentation and publication (an acceptance rate of 28%). And we have to confess that this task was not that easy due to the high quality of the submitted papers.

This book was released on 2023-07-24 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an open access book. E-commerce is a commercial activity centered on commodity exchange by means of information network technology. In the open network environment of the Internet, based on the client/server application method, buyers and sellers carry out various commercial activities online, realizing online shopping for consumers, online transactions between merchants and online electronic payment, as well as various business activities, trading activities, financial activities and related comprehensive service activities of a new business operation mode. It is the electronicization, networking and informatization of all aspects of traditional business activities. Internet technology is the prerequisite for e-commerce to be realized. The development and popularization of Internet technology has also played a positive role in promoting the development of e-commerce. Internet technology is a double-edged sword, with advantages and disadvantages, since it can promote the development of e-commerce, it may also affect its normal construction, such as the existence of theft of information, tampering with information, counterfeiting, malicious damage and other security risks, but also through the firewall technology, data encryption technology, authentication technology, digital signature technology and other technologies to regulate the transaction process. Therefore, the influence of the two is mutual, and only through continuous friction can we continuously promote the development of both sides in a benign direction. ECIT 2023 provides a platform in order to Create a forum for sharing, research and exchange at the international level, so that participants can be informed of the latest research directions, results and contents of applied Internet technologies on e-commerce, thus stimulating them to generate new research ideas. Promote the development of e-commerce by studying its problems. To open up new perspectives, broaden horizons and examine the issues under discussion by the participants. Each accepted article requires at least one author to attend the meeting and present it.

Book E Commerce and Web Technologies

Download or read book E Commerce and Web Technologies written by Tommaso Noia and published by Springer. This book was released on 2009-09-03 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After the initial enthusiastic initiatives and investments and the eventual bubble, el- tronic commerce (EC) has changed and evolved into a well-established and founded reality both from a technological point of view and from a scientific one. Nevert- less, together with its evolution, new challenges and topics have emerged as well as new questions have been raised related to many aspects of EC. Keeping in mind the experience and the tradition of the past editions of EC-Web, we tried, for its 10th edition, to introduce some meaningful innovations about the structure and the sci- tific organization of the conference. Our main target was to highlight the autonomous role of the different (sometimes heterogeneous) aspects of EC, without missing their interdisciplinary scope. This required the conference to be organized into four “mi- conferences," each for a relevant area of EC and equipped with a corresponding Area Chair. Both the submission and the review process took into account the organization into four tracks, namely: “Service-Oriented E-Commerce and Business Processes,” “Recommender Systems,” “E-Payment, Security and Trust” and “Electronic C- merce and Web 3. 0. ” Therefore, the focus of the conference was to cover aspects related to the theoretical foundation of EC, business processes as well as new - proaches exploiting recently emerged technologies and scenarios such as the Semantic Web, Web services, SOA architectures, mobile and ubiquitous computing, just to cite a few.
