Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My journey started in Haiti, where I spent most of my life. Due to some unforeseen turn of events, as experienced by many living in a ‘third-world’ country, my family migrated to the United States. I was only 17 at the time. Finishing high school in Miami, I ended up going to college. But it soon became apparent to me that college was not the place for my creativity to thrive. So I left and started pursuing what I believe to be my calling. I have always been writing poems and songs as a hobby, but I never thought I would be writing them for a career. But slowly, I started getting praise from my friends and family alike. I always knew I had a talent for it, and with a little more support from those closest to me, I decided to keep writing. That is how I compiled this collection of poems. 27 kiss and tales is my first ever book, and it is a story about someone I met who is very special in my life who also helped me feel things which I never thought were possible. This compilation is a navigation for the ones’ whose hearts speak only in tears. I believe everyone has a calling, and I am fortunate to have found mine.

Despite their lumpy, bumpy hide, toothy mouths stretched open wide, just like me and just like you, crocodiles need kisses too. Fun-to-read-aloud, rhyming text describes prickly porcupines, roaring tigers, and slithery snakes--not the most cuddly creatures, but still worthy of hugs and snuggles from their mamas! With a luscious and colorful palette, Crocodiles Need Kisses Too shows that animals (and children) don't have to be warm and fuzzy to be totally lovable.

Download or read book Genesis written by Abraham Kuruvilla and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2014-02-17 with total page 652 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Genesis: A Theological Commentary for Preachers engages hermeneutics for preaching, employing theological exegesis that enables the preacher to utilize all the narrative units of the book to craft effective sermons. This commentary unpacks the crucial link between Scripture and application: the theology of each preaching text, i.e., what the author is doing with what he is saying. Genesis is thus divided into thirty-five narrative units and the theological focus of each is delineated. The overall theological trajectory/theme of the book--divine blessing: creating for blessing (Gen 1-11), moving towards blessing (Gen 12-24), experiencing the blessing (Gen 25-36), and being a blessing (Gen 37-50)--is thus progressively developed. The specificity of these theological ideas for their respective texts makes possible a sequential homiletical movement through each pericope of the book, enabling the expositor to discover valid application for sermons. While the primary goal of the commentary is to take the preacher from text to theology, it also provides two sermon outlines for each of the thirty-five units of Genesis. The unique approach of this work results in a theology-for-preaching commentary that promises to be useful for anyone teaching through Genesis with an emphasis on application.
