Book Algorithms for VLSI Design Automation

Download or read book Algorithms for VLSI Design Automation written by Sabih H. Gerez and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1999-01-05 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern microprocessors such as Intel's Pentium chip typically contain many millions of transistors. They are known generically as Very Large-Scale Integrated (VLSI) systems, and their sheer scale and complexity has necessitated the development of CAD tools to automate their design. This book focuses on the algorithms which are the building blocks of the design automation software which generates the layout of VLSI circuits. Courses on this area are typically elective courses taken at senior undergrad or graduate level by students of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and sometimes in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

Book Design of Systems on a Chip Design and Test

Download or read book Design of Systems on a Chip Design and Test written by Ricardo Reis and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-05-06 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the second of two volumes addressing the design challenges associated with new generations of semiconductor technology. The various chapters are compiled from tutorials presented at workshops in recent years by prominent authors from all over the world. Technology, productivity and quality are the main aspects under consideration to establish the major requirements for the design and test of upcoming systems on a chip.

Book VHDL Hardware Description and Design

Download or read book VHDL Hardware Description and Design written by Roger Lipsett and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: VHDL is a comprehensive language that allows a user to deal with design complexity. Design, and the data representing a design, are complex by the very nature of a modern digital system constructed from VLSI chips. VHDL is the first language to allow one to capture all the nuances of that complexity, and to effectively manage the data and the design process. As this book shows, VHDL is not by its nature a complex language. In 1980, the U. S. Government launched a very aggressive effort to advance the state-of-the-art in silicon technology. The objective was to significantly enhance operating performance and circuit density for Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) silicon chips. The U. S. Government realized that in order for contractors to be able to work together to develop VLSI products, to document the resulting designs, to be able to reuse the designs in future products, and to efficiently upgrade existing designs, they needed a common communication medium for the design data. They wanted the design descriptions to be computer readable and executable. They also recognized that with the high densities envisioned for the U. S. Government's Very High Speed Integrated Circuit (VHSIC) chips and the large systems required in future procurements, a means of streamlining the design process and managing the large volumes of design data was required. Thus was born the concept of a standard hardware design and description language to solve all of these problems.

Book Defect Oriented Testing for Nano Metric CMOS VLSI Circuits

Download or read book Defect Oriented Testing for Nano Metric CMOS VLSI Circuits written by Manoj Sachdev and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-06-04 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 2nd edition of defect oriented testing has been extensively updated. New chapters on Functional, Parametric Defect Models and Inductive fault Analysis and Yield Engineering have been added to provide a link between defect sources and yield. The chapter on RAM testing has been updated with focus on parametric and SRAM stability testing. Similarly, newer material has been incorporated in digital fault modeling and analog testing chapters. The strength of Defect Oriented Testing for nano-Metric CMOS VLSIs lies in its industrial relevance.
