Book excerpt: "As a component of a comprehensive strategy for salmonid (Oncorhynchus spp.) recovery in the Columbia Basin, the Caspian Tern Management Plan for the Columbia River Estuary has been developed to reduce the impacts of Caspian terns (Hydroprogne caspia) nesting on East Sand Island on the survival of juvenile salmonids listed under the Endangered Species Act. The management initiatives that are being implemented call for dispersal of nesting Caspian terns to alternative nest sites outside the Columbia Basin, while preventing Caspian terns from nesting elsewhere in the Columbia River estuary, specifically on Rice Island and other dredge material disposal sites in the upper estuary. The primary objective of this work is to assist the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) in implementation of the management plan by monitoring Caspian tern use of the upper estuary and to dissuade Caspian terns from nesting at these sites."--Introduction (page 3).

They are now been replaced by heavy trucks and lorries. African traditional methods of healing are now been substituted by hospitals. In all these, I will always love and remember Africa, the home of my birth and must respect her cultures and traditions as an AFRICAN AUTHOR.
