Download or read book TERI Energy Environment Data Diary and Yearbook TEDDY 2018 19 written by TERI and published by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). This book was released on 2020-11-11 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: TERI Energy & Environment Data Diary and Yearbook (TEDDY) is an annual publication brought out by TERI since 1986. It is the only comprehensive energy and environment yearbook in India that provides updated information on the energy supply sectors (coal and lignite, petroleum and natural gas, power, and renewable energy sources), energy demand sectors (agriculture, industry, transport, household, buildings), and environment (local and global). Additionally, the publication reviews government policies and analyses latest policy discourses that have implications on India’s energy and environment sector. TEDDY 2018/19 gives an account of India’s commercial energy balances, extensively covering energy flows within different sectors of the economy and how they have been changing over time. These energy balances and conversion factors are a valuable reference for researchers, scholars, and organizations engaged in energy and related sectors. After the introductory chapter, TEDDY 2018/19 is divided into three sections—Energy Supply, Energy Demand, and Local and Global Environment. One of the main highlights of TEDDY 2018/19 is the addition of a new chapter—Buildings—under Energy Demand section. This chapter gives an in-depth analysis of India’s energy consumption by the buildings sector, and highlights the role of energy efficiency in buildings from the perspectives of both economy and environment. The thirty-fourth edition of TEDDY continues to remain less prose intensive with inclusion of more data, represented with the help of infographics, thus making the publication an authentic and interesting read. TEDDY 2018/19 also features a section on interlinkages of SDGs with energy and environment. Key Features: • Provides a review of government policies, programmes and initiatives that have implications for the petroleum and natural gas sector and the Indian economy • New chapters on Air Pollution, Solid Waste Management, Water Resource Management, and Land and Forest Resource Management • Exhaustive data from energy supply, energy demand, and local and global environment sectors Contents: Energy and environment: an overview Energy supply: Coal and lignite • Petroleum and natural gas • Power • Renewable energy Energy demand: Agriculture • Industry • Transport • Household energy • Buildings Local and global environment: Air quality and pollution • Solid waste management • Water resource management • Land and forest resource management • Climate change

This book was released on 2021-06-24 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Staff in schools have never been under so much pressure with high stakes accountability leading many teachers to rethink their profession. A third of Early Career Teachers are leaving within 5 years of training while Headteachers are less sure than ever that they will be able to continue to lead their schools. We have a staff wellbeing and mental health crisis in education. It has taken courage, determination and authenticity to prioritise relationships over results, not only between the children and their teachers, but also between the staff themselves. This book will support your school with: •32 individual chapter case-study accounts by headteachers and mental wellbeing leads of how they are implementing staff and pupil wellbeing in their schools. A rich resource of strategies and ideas to adapt to your own context. •How to recognise and tackle staff burnout in your school, identifying the Maslach factors that cause it. •Why teachers putting ‘a brave face on it’ is ineffective: Jonathan Glazzard presents his ground- breaking research identifying a connection between teacher wellbeing, pupil emotional response and attainment. •What ‘buffer’ leadership is and why recognising it is crucial to the headteacher’s mental health. This book belongs to the staff of the case-study schools that recount, in their own words, how focusing on wellbeing and mental health has transformed their schools. Download or read book Engaged Urban Pedagogy written by Lucy Natarajan and published by UCL Press. This book was released on 2023-07-06 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Engaged Urban Pedagogy presents a participatory approach to teaching built environment subjects by exploring 12 examples of real-world engagement in urban planning involving people within, and beyond, the university. Starting with curriculum review, course content is analysed in light of urban pasts, race, queer identity, lived experiences and concerns of urban professionals. Case studies then shift to focus on techniques for participatory critical pedagogy, including expanding the ‘classroom’ with links to live place-making processes, connections made through digital co-design exercises, and student-led podcasting assignments. Finally, the book turns to activities beyond formal university teaching, such as where school-age children learn about their own participation in urban processes together alongside university students and researchers. The last cases show how academics have enabled co-production in local urban developments, trained community co-researchers and acted as part of a city-to-city learning network. Throughout the book, editorial commentary highlights how these activities are a critical source of support for higher education. Together, the 12 examples demonstrate the power and range of an engaged urban pedagogy. They are written by academics, university students and those working in urban planning and place-making. Drawing on foundational works of critical pedagogy, they present a distinctly urban praxis that will help those in universities respond to the built environment challenges of today.
