This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 592 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Sixth Conference on Ultra-Wideband, Short-Pulse Electromagnetics (UWB SP6), chaired by Eric Mokole of the United States Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and hosted by the NRL and the United States Naval Academy (USNA), was held at the USNA in Annapolis Maryland (USA) from 3-7 June 2002. UWB SP6 was part of the AMEREM 2002 Symposium, chaired by Terence Wieting of the NRL. AMEREM 2002 continued the series of international conferences that were held in: Brooklyn New York at the Polytechnic University in 1992 and 1994; Albuquerque New Mexico in 1996 as part of AMEREM '96; Tel-Aviv Israel in 1998 as part of EUROEM '98; and Edinburgh Scotland in 2000 as part of EUROEM 2000. The next conference (UWB SP7) will be held from 12-16 July 2004 at Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg Germany (EUROEM 2004) and will be chaired by Frank Sabath. The purpose of these meetings is: to focus on advanced technologies for the generation, radiation, and detection of ultrawideband (UWB) short-pulse signals, taking into account their propagation about, scattering from, and coupling to targets and media of interest; to report on developments in supporting mathematical and numerical methods; and to describe current and potential future applications of the technology. The session topics of UWB-SP6 included electromagnetic theory, scattering, UWB antennas, UWB systems, ground penetrating radar (GPR), pulsed,. power generation, time-domain computational electromagnetics, UWB compatibility, target detection and discrimination, propagation through dispersive media, and wavelet and multi-resolution techniques.

Book Introduction to Complex Mediums for Optics and Electromagnetics

Download or read book Introduction to Complex Mediums for Optics and Electromagnetics written by Werner S. Weiglhofer and published by SPIE Press. This book was released on 2003 with total page 800 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complex-mediums electromagnetics (CME) describes the study of electromagnetic fields in materials with complicated response properties. This truly multidisciplinary field commands the attentions of scientists from physics and optics to electrical and electronic engineering, from chemistry to materials science, to applied mathematics, biophysics, and nanotechnology. This book is a collection of essays to explain complex mediums for optical and electromagnetic applications. All contributors were requested to write with two aims: first, to educate; second, to provide a state-of-the-art review of a particular subtopic. The vast scope of CME exemplified by the actual materials covered in the essays should provide a plethora of opportunities to the novice and the initiated alike.

Book Acoustics Mechanics and the Related Topics of Mathematical Analysis

Download or read book Acoustics Mechanics and the Related Topics of Mathematical Analysis written by Armand Wirgin and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2003-01-13 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book concerns the mathematical analysis OCo modeling physical concepts, existence, uniqueness, stability, asymptotics, computational schemes, etc. OCo involved in predicting complex mechanical/acoustical behavior/response and identifying or optimizing mechanical/acoustical systems giving rise to phenomena that are either observed or aimed at. The forward problems consist in solving generally coupled, nonlinear systems of integral or partial (integer or fractional) differential equations with nonconstant coefficients. The identification/optimization of the latter, of the driving terms and/or of the boundary conditions, all of which are often affected by random perturbations, forms the class of related inverse or control problems."

Book Theory of Electromagnetic Pulses

Download or read book Theory of Electromagnetic Pulses written by John Lekner and published by Morgan & Claypool Publishers. This book was released on 2018-07-06 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This short monograph presents the theory of electromagnetic pulses in a simple and physical way. All pulses discussed are exact solutions of the Maxwell equations, and have finite energy, momentum and angular momentum. There are five chapters: on Fundamentals, Solutions of the Wave Equation, Electromagnetic Pulses, Angular Momentum, and Lorentz Transformations. Nine Appendices cover mathematical or associated aspects, such as chiral measures of electromagnetic fields. The subject matter is restricted to free-space classical electrodynamics, but contact is made with quantum theory in proofs that causal pulses are equivalent to superpositions of photons.
