Book 1993 Commercial Roe Herring Fishery Catch Sampling Program

Download or read book 1993 Commercial Roe Herring Fishery Catch Sampling Program written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 61 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Commercial roe herring fisheries occur off the British Columbia coast during March and April of each year. Length, weight, sex, sexual maturity, and age data are required from these catches for use in age-structured mathematical models to estimate spawning and harvested biomass. Biological samples are routinely collected from catches to provide the data. This report gives the results of catches from 2 March to 1 April 1993 by type of fishery (seine and gillnet) and by area.Appendices provide information on gear and sample distribution by fishery and gillnet fishery packer lists.

Download or read book The 1988 Roe Herring Charter Vessel Monitoring and Sampling Program written by and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thirteen charter vessels made 517 sample sets on the British Columbia coast in order to assess the stock abundance, recruitment, and state of sexual maturity of the Pacific herring. These data were used to determine the location, timing and estimated duration of the 1988 commercial roe herring fishery openings. In addition, laboratory samples were retained after each sample set for use as part of a database for the computer modelling system used to estimate the escapement and predict the available surplus for the 1988/1989 Pacific herring fishery. Field data, including hydroacoustic stock estimates and onboard field analysis data are presented.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thirteen charter vessels made 489 sample sets on the British Columbia coast in order to assess the stock abundance, recruitment and state of sexual maturity of the Pacific herring. These data were used to determine the location, timing and estimated duration of the 1989 commercial roe herring fishery openings. In addition, laboratory samples were retained after each sample set for use as part of a database for the computer modelling system used to predict the available surplus for the 1989/1990 Pacific herring fishery. Field data, including hydroacoustic stock estimates and on-board field analysis data are presented.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Twelve charter vessels made 397 sample sets on the British Columbia coast in order for fishery managers to assess the stock abundance, recruitment, and state of sexual maturity of the Pacific herring. These data were used to determine the location, timing and estimated duration of the 1987 commercial roe herring fishery openings. In addition, laboratory samples were retained after each sample set for use as part of a data base for the computer modelling system used to predict the available surplus for the 1987/1988 Pacific herring fishery. Field data, including hydroacoustic stock estimates and onboard field analysis data are presented.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Statistics of the herring fishery in Alaska are summarized in this report for the years 1878 to 1956 insofar as detailed data were available. Catches are recorded by statistical areas in Southeastern Alaska, Prince William Sound, and Kodiak and represent a revision of previously published figures obtained by converting meal production to pounds of fish. Products of the fishery and the statistics of operation are summarized for all Alaska.
