Download or read book Organometallic Chemistry written by E W Abel and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2007-10-31 with total page 570 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organometallic chemistry is an interdisciplinary science which continues to grow at a rapid pace. Although there is continued interest in synthetic and structural studies the last decade has seen a growing interest in the potential of organometallic chemistry to provide answers to problems in catalysis synthetic organic chemistry and also in the development of new materials. This Specialist Periodical Report aims to reflect these current interests reviewing progress in theoretical organometallic chemistry, main group chemistry, the lanthanides and all aspects of transition metal chemistry. Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage of progress in the major areas of chemical research. Written by experts in their specialist fields the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, supplying regular critical in-depth accounts of progress in particular areas of chemistry. For over 80 years the Royal Society of Chemistry and its predecessor, the Chemical Society, have been publishing reports charting developments in chemistry, which originally took the form of Annual Reports. However, by 1967 the whole spectrum of chemistry could no longer be contained within one volume and the series Specialist Periodical Reports was born. The Annual Reports themselves still existed but were divided into two, and subsequently three, volumes covering Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. For more general coverage of the highlights in chemistry they remain a 'must'. Since that time the SPR series has altered according to the fluctuating degree of activity in various fields of chemistry. Some titles have remained unchanged, while others have altered their emphasis along with their titles; some have been combined under a new name whereas others have had to be discontinued. The current list of Specialist Periodical Reports can be seen on the inside flap of this volume.

Book Stationary Phases in Gas Chromatography

Download or read book Stationary Phases in Gas Chromatography written by G. E. Baiulescu and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stationary Phases in Gas Chromatography is a four-chapter book that begins with a description of chromatographic column, including its retention parameters; mobile and stationary phases; optimization of its process; and types of column in gas chromatography. Subsequent chapter focuses on the retention data and thermodynamic variables in the technique. The last two chapters report the different types of stationary phases in gas chromatography, as well as their selectivity.

Book Intestinal Mucosa and Its Diseases Pathophysiology and Clinics

Download or read book Intestinal Mucosa and Its Diseases Pathophysiology and Clinics written by W. Domschke and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1999-07-31 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These proceedings of Falk Symposium 110 on `Intestinal Mucosa and its Diseases - Pathophysiology and Clinics' held at Titisee/Black Forest, Germany, 16-17 October 1998, comprehensively review salient clinical as well as scientific aspects - pending or settled - of the main intestinal diseases. In particular, chapters deal with infectious and neuroendocrine diarrhoeas, coeliac sprue, allergic enteropathy, intestinal lymphomas, colorectal carcinomas, and chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, in terms of clinical presentation as well as underlying mechanisms. This book therefore aims to bridge the gaps between basic science and clinics for the eventual treatment of patients afflicted with these diseases.

Book Evolving Strategies and Tactics in Membrane Research

Download or read book Evolving Strategies and Tactics in Membrane Research written by D.F. Hoelzl Wallach and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: RichardJ. Winzler died ofa heart attack on September 28, 1972. He was a versatile, internationally renowned biochemist, gifted with bound less energy and a great breadth of view. After early work on respiratory enzymes, he developed a lifelong in te rest in complex carbohydrates and, particularly, glycoproteins. He early recognized the important role of the latter substances in membrane function and developed the now widely accepted model for the structure of major erythrocyte membrane glyco pro teins. He expanded this model to include the possible general roles of membrane glycoproteins in specific membrane functions, particularly cell recognition phenomena. Richard Winzler possessed a broad and critical perception of the ftux of biomedical progress. He thus appreciated very early that general recognition of the complexity of membrane-associated phenomena would foster a new, rapidly expanding, interdisciplinary membrane technology. He also recognized the need for means to bridge the communication barriers inevitably genera ted by such an evolution, and this conviction largely stimulated us to write this book. Membrane technology is a vast field and we cannot treat all its aspects. Instead, we concentrate on those areas that, in our view, have evolved most rapidly. In this, we pay primary but not exclusive attention to the plasma membrane, but where relevant, consider other biomem branes and diverse model systems. Moreover, we focus on animal cells, but include information derived from microbial and artificial membranes where germane.
