Book Advanced Information Processing in Automatic Control AIPAC 89

Download or read book Advanced Information Processing in Automatic Control AIPAC 89 written by R. Husson and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-23 with total page 573 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Information Processing is a key area of research and development and the symposium presented state-of-the-art reports on some of the areas which are of relevance in automatic control: fault diagnosis and system reliability. Papers also covered the role of expert systems and other knowledge based systems, which are needed, to cope with the vast quantities of data generated by large scale systems. This volume should be considered essential reading for anyone involved in this rapidly developing area.

Book Computer Aided Systems Theory EUROCAST 89

Download or read book Computer Aided Systems Theory EUROCAST 89 written by Franz Pichler and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1990-02-07 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonlinear Evolution Equations and Dynamical Systems (NEEDS) provides a presentation of the state of the art. Except for a few review papers, the 40 contributions are intentially brief to give only the gist of the methods, proofs, etc. including references to the relevant litera- ture. This gives a handy overview of current research activities. Hence, the book should be equally useful to the senior resercher as well as the colleague just entering the field. Keypoints treated are: i) integrable systems in multidimensions and associated phenomenology ('dromions'); ii) criteria and tests of integrability (e.g., Painlevé test); iii) new developments related to the scattering transform; iv) algebraic approaches to integrable systems and Hamiltonian theory (e.g., connections with Young-Baxter equations and Kac-Moody algebras); v) new developments in mappings and cellular automata, vi) applications to general relativity, condensed matter physics, and oceanography.

Book Analysis of Controlled Dynamical Systems

Download or read book Analysis of Controlled Dynamical Systems written by B. Bonnard and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-07 with total page 415 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The conference "Analysis of Controlled Dynamical Systems" was held in July 1990 at the University of LYON FRANCE. About hundred participants attended this conference which lasted four days : There were 50 speakers from departments of Engineering and Mathematics in east and west Europe, USA and USSR. The general subject of the conference was system theory. The main topics were optimal control, structure and control of nonlinear systems, stabilization and observers, differential algebra and systems theory, nonlinear aspects of Hoc theory, rigid and flexible mechanical systems, nonlinear analysis of signals. We are indebted to the scientific committee John BAILLIEUL, Michel FLIESS, Bronislaw JAKUBCZYCK, Hector SUSSMANN, Jan WILLEMS. We gratefully acknowledge the time and thought they gave to this task. We would also like to thank Chris BYRNES for arranging for the publication of these proceedings through the series "Progress in Systems and Control Theory"; BIRKHAUSER. Finally, we are very grateful to the following institutions who through their financial support contributed essentially to the success of this conference : CNRS, Special year " Systemes Dynamiques", DRET, MEN-DAGIC, GRECO-AUTOMATIQUE, Claude Bernard Lyon I University, Entreprise Rhone-Alpes International, Conseil General du RhOne, the cities of LYON and VILLEURBANNE.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive text that reviews the methods and technologies that explore emergent behavior in complex systems engineering in multidisciplinary fields In Emergent Behavior in Complex Systems Engineering, the authors present the theoretical considerations and the tools required to enable the study of emergent behaviors in manmade systems. Information Technology is key to today’s modern world. Scientific theories introduced in the last five decades can now be realized with the latest computational infrastructure. Modeling and simulation, along with Big Data technologies are at the forefront of such exploration and investigation. The text offers a number of simulation-based methods, technologies, and approaches that are designed to encourage the reader to incorporate simulation technologies to further their understanding of emergent behavior in complex systems. The authors present a resource for those designing, developing, managing, operating, and maintaining systems, including system of systems. The guide is designed to help better detect, analyse, understand, and manage the emergent behaviour inherent in complex systems engineering in order to reap the benefits of innovations and avoid the dangers of unforeseen consequences. This vital resource: Presents coverage of a wide range of simulation technologies Explores the subject of emergence through the lens of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Offers contributions from authors at the forefront of various related disciplines such as philosophy, science, engineering, sociology, and economics Contains information on the next generation of complex systems engineering Written for researchers, lecturers, and students, Emergent Behavior in Complex Systems Engineering provides an overview of the current discussions on complexity and emergence, and shows how systems engineering methods in general and simulation methods in particular can help in gaining new insights in complex systems engineering.

Book Tracking Control of Linear Systems

Download or read book Tracking Control of Linear Systems written by Lyubomir T. Gruyitch and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2013-05-29 with total page 426 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The primary purpose of control is to force desired behavior in an unpredictable environment, under the actions of unknown, possibly unmeasurable disturbances and unpredictable, and therefore probably nonzero, initial conditions. This means that tracking and tracking control synthesis are fundamental control issues. Surprisingly, however, tracking theory has not been well developed, and stability theory has dominated. Tracking Control of Linear Systems presents the fundamentals of tracking theory for control systems. The book introduces the full transfer function matrix F(s), which substantially changes the theory of linear dynamical and control systems and enables a novel synthesis of tracking control that works more effectively in real environments. An Introduction to the New Fundamentals of the Theory of Linear Control Systems The book begins by re-examining classic linear control systems theory. It then defines and determines the system full (complete) transfer function matrix F(s) for two classes of systems: input-output (IO) control systems and input-state-output (ISO) control systems. The book also discusses the fundamentals of tracking and trackability. It presents new Lyapunov tracking control algorithms and natural tracking control (NTC) algorithms, which ensure the quality of the tracking under arbitrary disturbances and initial conditions. This natural tracking control is robust, adaptable, and simple to implement. Advances in Linear Control Systems Theory: Tracking and Trackability This book familiarizes readers with novel, sophisticated approaches and methods for tracking control design in real conditions. Contributing to the advancement of linear control systems theory, this work opens new directions for research in time-invariant continuous-time linear control systems. It builds on previous works in the field, extending treatment of the system transfer functions, stability issues, the plant–control relationship, and control synthesis.
