Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Health State Function of a Population This book will inspire colleagues in applying, developing and expanding the theoretical and practical issues related to the health state of the population and to improve forecasts related to the life expectancy and the healthy life span. The Second Edition of the book includes four more chapters presenting very important theoretical and applied work. The book deals with the theory related to the health state of a population and the introduced health state function. The book presents and applies the stochastic modeling techniques and the first exit time theory in demography along with the healthy life expectancy estimates and a derivation and classification of the human development stages. The data fitting techniques and the related programs are also presented. Many new and old terms are explored and quantitatively estimated especially the health state or the “vitality” of a population, the Deterioration and the related function and the Healthy Life Expectancy. A method for estimating the total loss of healthy life years with applications and comparisons for the healthy life expectancy in UK, Scotland, Sweden, and in the US States is added. A new Quantitative Method for Estimating the Human Development Stages based on the Health State Function Theory and the Resulting Deterioration Process is also included. The book is addressed to demographers, actuaries, statisticians, applied mathematicians, sociologists, psychologists, economists, health scientists, biologists, policy makers and scientists and practitioners of very many fields. Attention was given to prepare the material for readers from multidisciplinary fields thus including the appropriate formulas and mathematical typos along with many applications from computer programs in Excel. Read this book and share with us a fascinating exploration on life table data and the underlying information on human health state.

Download or read book Atreya s guide to Ayurveda Practice written by Vaidya Vasant Patil and published by Atreya Ayurveda Publications. This book was released on 2023-01-14 with total page 666 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ayurveda, the science of life, holistic medicine offers a complete solution with medicines, diet and lifestyle. The radical shift occurred in defining health encourages the medical fraternity of modern times to look deeply into empirically evolved ayurvedic techniques for the maintenance of positive health. The recent WHO report says that 70% of the world population is using herbal medicines for their primary health care. In last decade the use of herbal medicines increased tremendously. Safe and effective prescribing is a basis of proper patient care. Many pocket books or practical prescriber available for allopathic medicine in market but very few for Ayurveda. In order to fulfill this we have undertaken this task. In order to diagnose the disease on the basis of Ayurvedic principles, the physician should have to work very hard to know the subtle changes occurring inside the body due to the imbalance of Dosha. To become perfect in Ayurvedic diagnosis, the physician needs to understand Dosha Vikalpa (Dravyataha-Gunataha-Karmataha Vriddhi of Dosha), Dhatu Vaishamya (the quantum of vitiation, the status of Dhatu & Srotas), Agni Sthiti and nature of Ama. It is essential to get the practical training from the Guru (Teacher) in order to become perfect in Ayurvedic diagnosis, as evidenced from the Vagbhata’s citation “The proficiency comes by continuous practice just like the the genuineness of diamond etc. can’t be known by mere reading of books”. The fundamental principles for treating any disease are Bio-purification, Palliative medicine and avoiding the causative factors. Considering this, the author tried to incorporate these triad principles of treatment. For every diseases, there is explanation regarding causes, symptoms, diagnosis, prognosis, line of treatment, Panchakarma treatment, Palliative treatment, formulations, Prescriptions, Pathyaapathya. I hope the Vaidyas will become efficient by practicing the remedies, regime and diet described in this book.

Book excerpt: The Chronicle (Παντοδαπὴ Ἱστορία (Pantodape historia)) is divided into two parts. The first part, the Chronography (Χρονογραφία (Chronographia)), gives an epitome of universal history from the sources, arranged according to nations. The second part, the Canons (Χρονικοὶ Κανόνες (Chronikoi kanones)), furnishes a synchronism of the historical material in parallel columns, the equivalent of a parallel time line. The work as a whole has been lost in the original Greek, but it may be reconstructed from later chronographists of the Byzantine school who made excerpts from the work, especially George Syncellus. The tables of the second part have been completely preserved in a Latin translation by Jerome, and both parts are still extant in an Armenian translation.
Download or read book At about the Time of the End written by Anaviel Ben Eleazer and published by Strategic Book Publishing. This book was released on 2013-02 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Ancient Hebrew scriptures are many thousands of years old. However, these influential texts still have the potential to influence our daily lives profoundly as well as to shape world events. At About the Time of the End is a new book that seeks to examine biblical narratives pertaining to Ancient Hebraic roots while juxtaposing them with scientific findings in the areas of archeology and evolutionary genetics. Author Anaviel Ben Eleazer originally composed the chapters that comprise the book as a series of individual essays. In compiling them into a book, it is his hope that the reader will be presented with an alternate view of biblical history and a new understanding of Ancient Hebraic scripture. The book is written from the informed perspective of someone who has lived in a Hebrew community in Israel for nearly four decades. At About the Time of the End presents nuanced views on a variety of biblical subjects and employs a new perception and understanding that's based on a deep appreciation of the Hebrew language and the Ancient Hebrew lexicon in particular. Anaviel Ben Eleazer was born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Detroit, MI. However, since 1974 he has lived in Israel, where he raised his family in the Negev town of Arad. While also running his own entertainment-booking agency, he has authored numerous articles and other short pieces over the years. At About the Time of the End is his first published work.
