Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was created, with love, for my clients as well as others who are experiencing issues, during the pandemic, with trying to make friends or communicate better with their family members. Communication isn't just something that adults need to do well, but also children. At times when life is hectic, children can get overlooked and their communication skills as well as friendships might be collateral damage. Therefore, due to all the recent changes, I have noticed that after the pandemic started, children have had a hard time with being able to make friends in their new setting. This could be partially because of living at home for the last six months for quarantine or having barriers between themselves and others that make it hard for them to know how to communicate with people who have half of their face covered or are in various forms of "bubbles". It turns something as small as making a new friend into a great task. Not being able to read people's expressions as clearly can cause children to shut down and what was once simple, can now seem complicated when it comes to communicating. Therefore, I have created this book. It is to help children still feel connected and to merge the gap between who they were before the pandemic and who they are at this point. Parents and teachers alike are encouraged to help their children/students by practicing social skills with the child and going through this book hand in hand with the child to build confidence in their social skills.

Book excerpt: A Recipe for Success: Discover 9+ Essential Skills Your Children Will Need To Prosper in Life... and How To Apply Them. What do you think are the most important skills your children should learn to become successful in life? Language, literacy, logic... Those are the top three answers of most parents. But what about... cooking? Or housekeeping? If you think teaching your child numbers is more important than them learning how to vacuum, then you have another thing coming. Studies have confirmed that the professional, personal, and financial success of an individual is not a product of highly developed academic skills. In other words, having straight A's might not get your kid as far in life as you had hoped. Instead, educators and psychologists suggest that the so-called soft skills are crucial when it comes to having a successful, happy, fulfilling life. This does not mean you should not encourage your kids to study hard and earn good grades. But it does mean that without those soft skills, even the most educated adults will find themselves at a disadvantage in both the workplace and in life. Kids will learn some of those skills in school, but the majority of them require engagement from parents. There are certain things children can only learn at home, with your support and encouragement. In 101 Parenting Tips, you will discover: 9+ essential life skills experts claim your child needs to achieve both professional and personal prosperity The importance of developing social skills, and fun parent-child activities you can perform at home to wake up the extrovert in your child How low self-esteem can hinder your child's cognitive development, and what you can do to boost their confidence sky-high Instructions on how to teach your children to resolve conflicts intelligently and peacefully through the power of empathy and smart communication Surprising hygiene habits and housekeeping skills children need in order to grow up into accomplished, successful adults Strategies for implementing excellent time-management and organizational skills in your household A blueprint for raising happy, successful children through smart parenting and healthy communication And much more. If you're a parent (or about to become one), then you know that raising children is hard work. Parents often say that half the time they "go with the flow" and hope for the best. Make it easier on yourself, by following clear guidelines that will ensure you're doing the best for your child. The strategies and techniques presented will come in handy, even for those who don't have their own kids but work with them on a daily basis. Book Social Skills Activities for Kids

Download or read book Social Skills Activities for Kids written by Rosalynne RIVERS and published by . This book was released on 2020-03-17 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you have children that seem to be far more unruly than their peers? Do they struggle to make friends or to know how to act when they are around other people? Do you find that they are always interrupting you or they are constantly causing problems for people around you? If so, then keep reading.... Children everywhere are learning--that much is true. Much of this learning happens naturally over time. Children learn how to behave and how to act with other people by being taught. However, sometimes, there is a bit of a disconnect there--instead of being taught what to do, children just fail to do what was expected of them altogether. Maybe they struggle to make their friends. Maybe they act in inappropriate manners, such as constantly cutting off what people are saying, not managing their emotions, or seeming not to recognize their emotions at all. These are signs that your child lacks social skills that are crucial. These social skills are what teach your child how it is that they should be behaving in the first place. Without the social skills that your child needs to know, he or she will not be able to interact with peers in an effective manner. They will not manage to deal with their emotions in a meaningful manner, and instead, they can lash out at other people. They can cause problems. They can yell and scream. All of this can lead to very serious problems that will need to be corrected as soon as possible to grant your child the best chance at success possible. This book is here to help you with all of that--in buying this book and reading through it, you will find that you are guided through understanding precisely why these social skills matter and how to ensure that your child can develop them. You do not want your child to suffer or struggle in life--and for that reason, you will find that spending the time to better their relationships and the skills that go along with being able to maintain them is precisely what you need to do. Within this book, you will find that following information that will help you do just that: All sorts of information on why social skills matter, how to recognize when a child is struggling with social skills, and why they will need extra help to better deal with their relationships Several activities that will guide your child through learning the skills necessary to make friends More activities on how to maintain relationships to engage with your child to support that development Activities that are centralized around communication--both in learning to talk to other people, and in learning how to listen actively and effectively to ensure that your child will have these crucial life skills AND MORE! There is no need to hesitate--reading this book and implementing the activities within it will help you take your child far in life, and all you have to do is sit down and get started. Book excerpt: The easy way for kids to develop social skills and make friends in 7 simple steps by involving the kids and their parents. Raising bright, confident, and socially competent children is every parent's top priority. We want our kids to live, laugh, and love without abandon. We want to see them grow and prosper in any environment. That includes social settings. However, socializing doesn't come easily to everybody. Some kids are shyer than others. Some kids simply thrive on social energy. Some kids prefer small friend groups. Some kids love being in the middle of a crowd. This is why it's difficult to find a one-size-fits-all solution to helping kids socialize. Heck, it's downright impossible! Every kid is different, after all. That's what sets this book apart. It celebrates that difference by providing multiple age-appropriate tips, tools, and strategies to help every kid out. From natural leaders to quiet, creative souls, from energetic little scamps to soft, sensitive doves... there's an approach in this book that'll work for them all. There are 45 fun activities in this book, all separated according to skills and then further separated into age groups: babies, toddlers, preschoolers, elementary and middle schoolers. The specific development stage of each child is considered. No one is excluded. Aside from discovering the 7 Main Social Skills Every Child Needs to Develop, you'll also learn: ● The 3 Main Types of Self-Esteem-and which one you should help your child nurture ● The crucial difference between controlling emotions and suppressing them ● How to recognize and label different emotions... in us and in others ● What it means to model - and why we, as parents, should always watch our words, tones, and reactions around our kids ● Why it's okay to let kids make mistakes and face the consequences (sometimes) ● Why kids are never too young to master empathy ● The crucial, tell-tale signs of bullying and what you can do if your child is being bullied - or if they are the bully ● The hidden power in asking a toddler, "This or that?" ● Why you should ask your child for their opinions more often ● Why over-praising can actually damage a child's self-esteem ... and many, many more. This book also highlights how the 7 social skills are interconnected. What's self-esteem got to do with bullying, and what's decision-making got to do with self-esteem? You'll have to read it to find out! Navigating social situations can be difficult for both kids and adults alike. Kids have more energy; adults have more experience. By working together with your child, you can help them grow and mature into emotionally intelligent, well-balanced individuals.
