So I created this simple little book filled with almost 1,000 doodles for YOU. Use it as a guide to assist you in building your own visual vocabulary. So dive in, start drawing and create Sketchbooks of your own to capture how you dream, doodle and discover the world around you. You will need:1. Pencil2. Markers3. Sketchbook or PaperThe Doodle Institute is a collection of courses, workshops and products for visual learners, strategists, educators and leaders who wish to become change agents to transform the world through understanding how to apply the powerful tool of Visual Learning to Strategic Thinking, Team Building and Problem Solving. We are on a mission to help adults and children explore their own creative space and give themselves permission to doodle, discover and dream. As a company, we have worked with hundreds of businesses, from top Fortune 500's to non-profits and start-ups, and have seen thousands of adults light up when they realize they can draw and bring their ideas to life. Our dream is to share what we have learned about doodling and coloring in order to unlock the creativity inside all people, so we may become the Creators of Change we want to see in the world. So many adults complain that they 'draw like a five-year old,' because that's likely when they stopped drawing. We want to encourage kids to keep drawing and get adults back to doodling. Everyone from 1 to 101 can still doodle. In fact, it is really good for the heart, mind and spirit.

Book The Moral Imagination

Download or read book The Moral Imagination written by John Paul Lederach and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2010 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "John Paul Lederach's work in the field of conciliation and mediation is internationally recognized. He has provided consultation, training and direct mediation in a range of situations from the Miskito/Sandinista conflict in Nicaragua to Somalia, Northern Ireland, Tajikistan, and the Philippines. His influential 1997 book Building Peace has become a classic in the discipline. In this book, Lederach poses the question, "How do we transcend the cycles of violence that bewitch our human community while still living in them?" Peacebuilding, in his view, is both a learned skill and an art. Finding this art, he says, requires a worldview shift. Conflict professionals must envision their work as a creative act-an exercise of what Lederach terms the "moral imagination." This imagination must, however, emerge from and speak to the hard realities of human affairs. The peacebuilder must have one foot in what is and one foot beyond what exists. The book is organized around four guiding stories that point to the moral imagination but are incomplete. Lederach seeks to understand what happened in these individual cases and how they are relevant to large-scale change. His purpose is not to propose a grand new theory. Instead he wishes to stay close to the "messiness" of real processes and change, and to recognize the serendipitous nature of the discoveries and insights that emerge along the way. overwhelmed the equally important creative process. Like most professional peacemakers, Lederach sees his work as a religious vocation. Lederach meditates on his own calling and on the spirituality that moves ordinary people to reject violence and seek reconciliation. Drawing on his twenty-five years of experience in the field he explores the evolution of his understanding of peacebuilding and points the way toward the future of the art." http://www.loc.gov/catdir/enhancements/fy0616/2004011794-d.html.

Book Line Let Loose

    Book Details:
  • Author : David Maclagan
  • Publisher : Reaktion Books
  • Release : 2013-07-15
  • ISBN : 1780231318
  • Pages : 170 pages

Download or read book Line Let Loose written by David Maclagan and published by Reaktion Books. This book was released on 2013-07-15 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As forms of drawing go, scribbling is the most basic: it is seen as playing a formative role in the drawings of both children and primates. Doodling, while still being a widespread phenomenon, is largely an adult preoccupation—a nomadic form of drawing typically produced during meetings and phone calls. But even though those who engage in it are not necessarily trained artists, automatic drawing is a more dramatic event, and the results of an absentminded or trancelike state are sometimes astonishing. Because of their amateur and spontaneous character, all three forms of drawing have been adopted by modern artists seeking to escape from the constraints of their professional skills. In Line Let Loose, David Maclagan shows that each of these marginal forms of drawing has its own history in spiritualism, surrealism, abstract expressionism, and psychedelic art. Referring to Klee, Pollock, Miro, Twombly, and LeWitt, as well as many lesser-known or anonymous artists, he traces the links between them and a pervasive notion of the spontaneous and ‘unconscious’ creation of forms in art. He suggests that the original novelty of these unconventional drawing processes has begun to wear off, and he explores their new situation in our modern digital culture.
